Dell’s 14-inch Latitude 5480 business laptop is the successor to the Latitude 14 E5470. As such, the notebook offers a no-frills but durable design, excellent performance and a compelling array of security features. The “Mainstream” Latitude 5000-series sits between the less expensive “Essential” 3000-line on one side and the “Premium” 7000-series on the other. Designed for mainstream business people, Dell Latitude 5480 packs strong performance and long battery endurance into a sturdy package. Starting from $769 ($1,562 as examined), Dell’s notebook has the manageability and security options corporate IT offices require, along with the deep key journey and an accurate touchpad/pointing stick. With the most potent hardware selected, the price quickly climbs to above $2000.
As a 14-inch business notebook, our Dell Latitude 5480 is of course not without competition. During the review, we’ll take a look at how the 5480 compares to the other business-savvy machines like the Lenovo ThinkPad T460 and the HP ProBook 440 G4. For those who don’t mind its bothersome touch screen, the Dell Latitude 5480 has a lot to offer.
