Xiaomi Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime smartphones are now official: Price and Specifications

As confirmed earlier, Xiaomi has finally launched the much awaited Redmi 4 smartphones in china. Company has launched three different models of the Redmi 4 smartphone which are named as: Redmi 4ARedmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime respectively. Both the Redmi 4 and the Redmi 4 Prime smartphones are available for pre-orders in China and will go on sale from Monday. While, the Redmi 4A on the other hand will go on sale from November 11.

Starting with the Redmi 4A, it is the most basic model among Redmi 4 series, though it still comes in an all meta uni-body. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS display and is powered by Snapdragon 425 chipset with a quad-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 308, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage (expandable via hybrid dual-SIM card slot). The smartphone will run on MIUI v.8 on top of Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The device features a 13 mega-pixel rear camera accompanied by a single LED flash. There is a 5 mega-pixel selfie snapper at the front. There is no fingerprint scanner on the Redmi 4A. The device is backed by a 3,120 mAh battery and will be available in gold and rose gold colors only. The phone will cost CNY 499 (approx US $74 or INR 5,000) and will go on sale on November 11.

Now, the Redmi 4 smartphone also features an all metal uni-body design with 2.5D glass at the front. The smartphone features 5-inch HD (720p) IPS display and is powered by the Snapdragon 430 chip with an octa-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 505 GPU, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage (expandable via hybrid dual-SIM card slot). The smartphone will run on MIUI v.8 on top of Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The main camera is the same 13 mega-pixel resolution, is a different unit and sits centered at the back. It supports phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) and comes with a dual-LED (not dual-tone) flash. The 5 mega-pixel selfie shooter is the same as on the 4A model. Xiaomi Redmi 4 has an always-on fingerprint scanner at the back, below the main camera and is backed by a 4,100 mAh battery. The device will be available in gold, silver, and dark gray color options for CNY 699 (approx US $104 or INR 7,000).

Finally, the Redmi 4 Prime smartphone features the similar design as that of the regular Redmi 4 variant, but still have some changes. The device features similar 5-inch but Full-HD (1080p) IPS display, which is powered by Snapdragon 625 with an octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 GPU, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage(expandable via hybrid dual-SIM card slot).

 

The Redmi 4 Prime also features dual-tone dual-LED flash next to its 13 mega-pixel main camera, and the network connectivity is upped to Full Netcom 3.0, while the rest of the Redmi 4 models are at 2.0. Rest of the specs, that includes colors, battery life, OS and design is similar to that of standard Redmi 4 variant. Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is already available on-preorder in China for CNY 899 (approx US $133 or INR 8,900) and will go on sale on Monday.
